Selena Gomez’s latest back tattoo was revealed in its full glory on Tuesday.
The 29-year-old singer’s new body art was shared by her New York based tattoo artist, Keith Scott McCurdy, who posted a photo of the stunning floral piece on her back on Instagram.
Gomez is not new to the world of body art. The star apparently has a total of 16 tattoos throughout her body.
The intricate new artwork features a blooming pink rose with lower shading that drips down Gomez’s spine.
The singer’s bob is parted down the middle and towards her shoulders in the photo so that the beautiful design is on full display.
‘Watercolor on @selenagomez,’ McCurdy wrote in the caption, adding, ‘Thank you for always being wonderful.’
The tattoo was previously glimpsed by fans in mid-December, when McCurdy, known as Bang Bang Tattoo on Instagram, shared a moody black and white photo of the fresh ink taken from a distance.
Gomez posed inside the tattoo studio with her back to the camera.
Her black trench coat was put on backwards and she rocked a pair of straight-legged trousers and platform lace-up shoes.
The Disney Channel star put herself in good hands as the famous tattoo artist has previously worked on stars like Rihanna, Lebron James, Katy Perry and Justin Bieber.
The Bang Bang Tattoo studio is based in New York City, where Selena is currently shooting season two of her hit Hulu series Only Murders In The Building.
This wasn’t Selena’s first visit to the tattoo parlor, as the singer appeared on the studio’s Instagram page in April of this year, after she got a small cross tattooed across her collarbone.
Gomez’s love for tattoos started in 2012 when she inked a tiny black music note on her wrist.
Since then the actress has accumulated several other small tattoos, including the word ‘Rare’, an Arabic phrase that means ‘love yourself first’, as well as the Roman numerals ‘LXXVI’ on her neck.
In 2019 she took the plunge and got a large pair of ‘prayer hands’ tattooed on her left thigh.
Her latest tattoo dethrones ‘prayer hands’ as her biggest tattoo to date.
