Taylor Swift fans were left convinced the singer wiped away tears after performing an emotional song about loss during her gig in Detroit on Saturday.
The songstress, 33, took to the stage as part of her Eras tour as she continued to entertain crowds despite her recent split from The 1975’s Matty Healy, 34.
Taylor has been performing two surprise songs at the end of her concerts, and Saturday saw her play 2008’s Breathe on the piano.
Fans watching the live stream were quick to spot the star seemingly wiping away a tear from her cheek as she concluded the stunning rendition.
With one writing: ‘Damn it somehow feels like she’s barely holding it together in the more recent shows.’
A second wrote: ‘TAYLOR WIPED A TEAR AFTER BREATHE???? BYE IM UPSET’.
While a third added: ‘Did…did she just cry during breathe? she wiped a tear??’.
A fourth said: ‘Taylor Swift, after she finished her second surprise song she wiped her eye as if she was crying’.
And a fifth commented: ‘She made it fall on the side of her face hidden onscreen, god she’s too talented’.
The song features the lyrics: ‘It’s the kinda ending you don’t really wanna see’ and ‘I can’t breathe without you, but I have to’.
MailOnline have contacted Taylor’s reps for comment.
Earlier this year hitmaker also split from British actor Joe Alwyn, 32, after a six-year relationship.
A source close to the couple said at the time: ‘The relationship had just run its course. It’s why [Alwyn] hasn’t been spotted at any shows,’ with Page Six claiming that the pair broke up ‘a few weeks’ before the news broke in April
It comes after rocker Matt appeared to give an on-stage apology on Wednesday night at his band’s stop in Dublin, Ireland – two days after his romance with Swift ended.
Matty performed an acoustic solo set before the full band took the stage and asked the audience a question.
He grabbed a can of black spray paint and scrawled ‘Sorry?’ in giant letters on a white backdrop as his bandmate Jamie Squire sang a cover of Leon Russell’s A Song For You.
Breathe lyrics
I see your face in my mind as I drive away,
‘Cause none of us thought it was gonna end that way
People are people,
And sometimes we change our minds
But it’s killing me to see you go after all this time
Music starts playin’ like the end of a sad movie,
It’s the kinda ending you don’t really wanna see
‘Cause it’s tragedy and it’ll only bring you down,
Now I don’t know what to be without you around
And we know it’s never simple,
Never easy
Never a clean break, no one here to save me
You’re the only thing I know like the back of my hand,
And I can’t,
Breathe,
Without you,
But I have to,
Breathe,
Without you,
But I have to
Swift and the rocker’s romance was revealed in May, amid speculation they had already been dating for weeks — but a friend close to the star confirmed Taylor was ‘single’ again on Monday.
Later in the night, Matty tried to Shake It Off with several pints of Guinness waving the pint at the audience and saying: ‘It is not even normal, it is just because it is so nice.’
‘But you drink so much of it like it is some kind of milk that then you forget the songs so I came in at the wrong time then,’ he continued.
‘I thought it was quite dramatic as well, I was making my way over here and it was all eye contact and just a p****d bloke,’ he slurred.
Matty stumbled around the stage to the concern of his bandmates George Daniel and Adam Hann according to The Sun.
Though Taylor has not spoken about the split, she gave a very emotional performance during her Chicago show over the weekend and appeared close to tears as her voice began to break during a piano version of ‘I Don’t Wanna Live Forever’, an emotional breakup song.
‘Wondering if I dodged a bullet, or just lost the love of my life?’ Swift sang as her mouth seemed to tremble with emotion.
The Dear Reader hitmaker dated the I Always Want to Die singer for a bit more than a month after her breakup with her boyfriend of six years, actor Joe Alwyn.
Speaking of Alwyn, he is reportedly ‘disappointed and embarrassed’ by Swift’s new breakup anthem You’re Losing Me, which she released last month, The Mirror reported.
The lyrics of the song follow the breakdown of a relationship with the Don’t Blame Me singer detailing how she wanted to get married but he never asked her.
She sings: ‘How long could we be a sad song / ‘Til we were too far gone to bring back to life?’
Alwyn allegedly was ‘under the impression she’d spare him the Harry Styles treatment.’
A source said, ‘He’s respectfully asking her to let him move on – and shut up!’
The Stars at Noon actor also reportedly finds it ‘rude’ that Taylor flaunted her ‘tacky new romance’ with Healy.
