Kamilla Cardoso posted a status hinting at leaving Chicago Sky because she was always on the bench to improve Angel Reese’s stats.

Kamilla Cardoso’s recent social media post has sparked speculation about her future with the Chicago Sky.

The talented center’s desire to play a more active role contrasts with her current situation, where she feels her playing time might be sacrificed to bolster another player’s statistics. As fans and analysts speculate on the implications of her statement, Cardoso’s potential departure could reshape dynamics within the team and across the league.

WNBA Fans Scold Sky Coach Teresa Weatherspoon For Suspect Angel Reese, Kamilla Cardoso Decision

The Chicago Sky fell to 9-13 on the 2024 WNBA regular season after losing a disappointing defeat to the New York Liberty on Thursday.

If there was one silver lining in the loss, it was that rookie Angel Reese recorded yet another double-double (albeit barely), keeping her historic streak alive.

But fans are blasting Sky coach Teresa Weatherspoon for seemingly caring more about Reese getting her record than giving fellow rookie Kamilla Cardoso minutes.

One Sky fan went viral for writing on X, “Benching Kamilla Cardoso and putting her back in immediately after the double double happened is crazy” with three crying emojis.

“Lemme get this straight, Kamilla Cardoso could be at the ESPYs tonight potentially collecting a major award with her former college teammates, but instead she spent half the night riding the bench because the Sky coach wants to pad Angel’s stats?” said another.

A third fan wrote, “Here we go again….. Teresa Weatherspoon benching Kamilla Cardoso ..to pad Angel Reese stats. Then took Reese out when she got a double double.”

This is not a good look for Weatherspoon or the Sky.

They’ll have a chance to right this wrong against the Liberty on Saturday.
