Whoopi Goldberg jokingly collapses during Hot Topics on The View – when co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin brings up Taylor Swift again.

The 68-year-old host had just finished slamming ‘toxically masculine’ men for criticizing Taylor getting screen time at boyfriend Travis Kelce‘s football games so when Alyssa brought her up again, the actress playfully pretended to collapse.

Alyssa, 34, had changed the subject to the new movie Argylle – with the film’s star Bryce Dallas Howard – and brought Taylor, 34, up again.

There has been a running conspiracy theory that Taylor is the author of the book behind the Argylle film – under the pseudonym Elly Conway.

The director of Argylle Matthew Vaughn has debunked the rumor – but it is a rumor that is still swirling.

‘Argylle, as we know, it’s based on a book supposedly written by a novelist named Elly Conway, but there’s a conspiracy theory making the rounds, that Elly Conway is actually a pseudonym for Taylor Swift,’ Alyssa said.

‘Oh my God!’ Whoopi said, as she laughed and put her head on the table as if she collapsed.

Co-host Joy Behar also shook her head and said ‘Oh my God’ too.

Bryce, 42, however answered the question about the book and the novelist; she plays Elly Conway in Argylle – based on the book Argylle by Elly Conway.

‘It’s really important because Taylor Swift is an icon and works very hard on all things that she creates and we’d never want to take credit for something she wasn’t part of,’ Bryce said.

‘So yes, Taylor Swift did not write Argylle, but none of us have a full understanding of the mystery around Elly Conway. Matthew Vaughn, the director, his daughter heard about this theory about Taylor Swift, and rushed into his room and was like, “Why did you not tell me that Taylor Swift wrote Argylle, dad? You should at least be able to trust me?”‘

‘And he was like, “Hmm, pardon?” and went online and saw this.’

Last month, Matthew told Rolling Stone the same story, adding ‘There is an Elly Conway who wrote the book, but it’s not Taylor Swift. And I say that because I imagine Taylor Swift has a load of people trying to jump on her bandwagon, left, right, and center, and I don’t want to be a part of that club.’

Adding: ‘I did read the conspiracies and I was like, wow, they don’t leave a stone unturned! But it’s not Taylor Swift. She definitely didn’t write the book.’

Joy then said: ‘Alright. Okay enough with Taylor Swift. I mean we love the girl but alright.’

Alyssa jokingly added that she tries to get Taylor in every segment.

The conversation about Argylle and Taylor came just after Whoopi and Joy spoke about why football fans are so angry at the singer and for her being shown briefly on broadcasts when she’s at the game to support Travis.

Whoopi said: ‘What are you so p*****d about? Why are you so mad? There is so, so many things to be angry at in this world. Why are these men toxically masculine?’

Joy added: ‘These guys need some therapy, go get a shrink! I mean, they don’t consider it masculine to be in therapy. It is not about masculine [or] feminine, it is about your brain, and so they need some help, and that’s why I feel sorry for them.’

Co-host Sara Haines reiterated the comments: ‘Here comes Taylor Swift. She has more money – therefore, more power.  She’s more famous, and she’s coming in to see her boyfriend in his home.’

Taylor has been an avid supporter of boyfriend Travis, who is set to play with is team – the Kansas City Chiefs – in the Super Bowl on Sunday, February 11  against the San Francisco 49ers.
