Taylor Swift gave a young female fan her ’22’ hat on Thursday during the second night of the Tokyo leg of her Eras tour on Wednesday.

In the clip, Taylor skipped up to the waiting fan and got on her knees before having a brief but energetic conversation with her and enveloping her in a hug.

She then takes her black bowler hat off, which she wears during the performance of her 2013 hit 22, and places it on the fan’s head.

Taylor shared a few more sweet words with the fan before skipping back to her dancers for a kickline.

The star kicked off the Japanese leg of the tour on Wednesday at the Tokyo Dome, days after announcing new album The Tortured Poets Department st the Grammy Awards, and will perform until Saturday.

Taylor told her fans: ‘I am so happy and honoured to get to say these words to you tonight,’ before greeting them in Japanese.

She continued: ‘We haven’t been in Tokyo for over four years and I am so happy to be back with you here tonight at The Eras Tour.

‘Thank you so much for deciding to be here, thank you to anyone who travelled, thank you to everyone who is here tonight. I love you so much.’

After her Saturday show, Taylor will fly ten hours to Las Vegas to support boyfriend Travis Kelce at the Super Bowl on Sunday.

Taylor’s carbon footprint has long since been a bone of contention amongst fans and foes alike and estimations that she will travel around 20,000 miles during this week and next have only escalated this.

The Eras Tour has already seen Taylor perform in Mexico, Argentina, and Brazil, and she has 18 more countries to go.

Her next top will be Australia on February 16 where she will perform for three nights in Melbourne and four in Sydney.

She will perform for three nights at Wembley Stadium in June and will also perform in Scotland, Wales, and Ireland – but not Northern Ireland.

It comes after Taylor announced a surprise new album during her acceptance speech at the Grammys on Sunday at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

Accepting her 13th Grammy on stage, Taylor said: ‘I want to say thank you to the fans by telling you a secret that I have been keeping from you for the last two years, which is that my brand-new album comes out April 19th.’

Taylor continued: ‘It’s called The Tortured Poet’s Department. I’m going to go and post the cover right now backstage.’

Keeping true to her word minutes later Taylor – who also earned her fourth Album Of The Year at the show – shared the racy cover which saw her lying on a bed in black underwear and a sheer black top.
