Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce left his NFL game separately on Sunday after she proudly watched him from the stands leaving many to wonder why they didn’t head out together as they did the previous week.
Travis’ team, the Kansas City Jets, faced off that night against the New York Jets at East Rutherford’s MetLife Stadium – the same sprawling venue where Taylor performed in May as part of her juggernaut Eras Tour.
Ensconced in a VIP box this weekend, Taylor, 33, ecstatically cheered Travis on amid a thicket of gal pals including Blake Lively and Sophie Turner.
The fact that she attended the game with an entourage may be part of the reason she did not leave with Travis, according to a theory floated by JustJared.
Further, the outlet also noted that NFL protocol is that teams tend to leave away games as a group, so Travis may have been comporting with standard etiquette by exiting the MetLife Stadium with the other Kansas City Chiefs rather than with Taylor.

She did, however, leave with Travis one week earlier after she attended a Chiefs game on their home turf at the Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.
During this past Sunday’s game, Taylor was spotted enjoying a few warm moments with Travis’ mother Donna on Sunday as they watched the Chiefs beat the Jets.
Another famous face glimpsed in the box that night was Taylor’s new pal Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Travis’ steamy teammate Patrick Mahomes.
Meanwhile Blake, who was joined by her husband Ryan Reynolds, was seen leaping up and down so enthusiastically that she almost suffered a wardrobe malfunction.
The NFL outing came just one day after Taylor attended the star-studded seventh birthday party of Blake and Ryan’s daughter Inez.
Taylor famously also released a song in 2020 called Betty, named after Blake and Ryan’s third daughter, who is now three years old.
Meanwhile, Taylor has been cultivating a blossoming friendship with Sophie amid the latter’s divorce from their mutual ex Joe Jonas.
Taylor, who briefly dated Joe in the summer of 2008, has written multiple songs that are rumored to be about him, including the scathing Better Than Revenge.

News of Travis’ romance with Taylor went public in the middle of September – two months after he dished on his podcast that he had tried and failed to give her his phone number at her concert in Kansas City.
The athlete said he had his phone number inscribed on a bracelet, which he planned to present to to Taylor – but when he attended her Kansas City show, he was unsuccessful in his attempts to meet her backstage.
‘So she doesn’t meet anybody and she doesn’t – or at least she didn’t want to meet me, so I took it personal,’ he quipped on his podcast New Heights, which he co-hosts with his brother and fellow NFL star Jason Kelce.
Their public appearances as a duo have gone repeatedly viral, including a dinner date they enjoyed after reportedly clearing out the restaurant by paying for all the other customers’ meals in exchange for their departure.
Taylor then sent her fans into a frenzy on September 24 when she materialized at the Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City to watch Travis play with the Chiefs.
Decked out in Chiefs colors, Taylor had pride of place with in the VIP box, where she could be seen gleefully cheering Travis on next to his mother.

It was at a postgame party that evening that Taylor reportedly bonded with Brittany, whose husband remarked at a press conference a few days later that Taylor was ‘really cool, good people.’
Travis’ ex Maya Benberry recently gave an exclusive interview to DailyMail.com, accusing Travis of having been unfaithful to her and warning Taylor about him.
‘Taylor seems like such a fun girl with a beautiful spirit so I wish her the best of luck but I wouldn’t be a girls’ girl if I didn’t advise her to be smart!’ Maya said.
‘I’m sure by now she has mastered the ability to see who is really there for her – and who is just using her,’ she added tellingly.
