Fans have ripped into Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce over their ‘trash’ antics at Sunday’s US Open final – which left Brittany Mahomes cringing.

Along with Brittany and husband Patrick, Taylor and Travis headed to Arthur Ashe Stadium to watch Italy’s world No 1 Jannik Sinner battle it out with American star Taylor Fritz for the last Grand Slam title of the year.

At one stage of the final cameras panned to the celebrity super-couple as they belted out iconic 2000s rock song ‘I Believe in a Thing Called Love’ by The Darkness in the stands, with a clip of the moment setting the internet ablaze.

As Taylor and Travis sang along animatedly, a number of users pointed out how awkward Brittany and Patrick looked alongside them, with the Chiefs WAG seemingly whispering to her quarterback husband in disbelief: ‘Do you know this song?’

After Patrick responded a mortified Brittany then appeared to say: ‘Like, what?!’

Her awkward moment next to Taylor comes after the pair were not sat together for the Chiefs’ opening NFL fixture on Thursday, which sparked talk of a potential rift between them after Mahomes’ recent like on Donald Trump’s Instagram post.

While Swift’s die-hard followers and a portion of tennis fans were in awe at her and Kelce’s singalong, others took aim at the couple for lacking ‘decorum’ and putting on a show for the cameras in New York.

One user wrote on X: ‘Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are pure cringe at the US Open, this looks completely forced and unnatural’.

Another commented: ‘No other couple in the celeb world loves the cameras this much. We’re still not buying it.’

‘If you can’t see that Taylor is being overly dramatic and making a spectacle of herself, you’re beyond help,’ said a third. ‘No one acts like a 15 yr on her first booze cruise at the US Open. It’s the US Open, not a football game in honky tonk. Maybe she’s just really trash vs class, I dunno.’

One fan replied to that post and agreed: ‘That’s what I was saying! Do you see any other couples making out in the stands?! Like you said It’s the US open not a football game have some decorum’.

While one simply put: ‘incredibly cringe’.

In another clip shared by comedian Matt Friend, Swift could be seen grooving along to another song while dancing on Kelce as he chatted with teammate Mahomes.

Taylor and Travis landed in New York City on Friday and visited Brooklyn pizza hotspot Lucali that evening, with tons of paparazzi waiting for them as they arrived.

The trip to the US Open concluded the weekend before Kelce jets back to Kansas City ahead of the Chiefs’ Week 2 clash with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Swift was in the stands for their opening victory over the Baltimore Ravens at Arrowhead on Thursday, watching the game alongside Kelce’s family.

After not sitting together that night, many questioned whether Taylor and Brittany were on good terms amid the controversy over the latter liking one of Trump’s post on Instagram last month.

Swift has publicly condemned Trump in the past, meaning many have questioned whether Mahomes’ endorsement of the former President could spell the end of their friendship.

However, the BFFs put any talk of a feud to bed when they were seen embracing alongside their man at the US Open final.

Mom-of-two Brittany also came under fierce fire after admitting that she didn’t know the extremely popular tune by The Darkness.
