Then they had to perform the scene where Éponine dies in the arms of Redmayne’s characters and it was just awkward. Redmayne too recounted the incident,

I wasn’t going to get this role but they were like, ‘Do you want to come to London for one last screen test, you’ll get to screen test with Eddie Redmayne?’ I’m like this seems like an experience I want to have in my life.”
Swift said that she was a fan of Redmayne, who won the Academy Award for Best Actor for The Theory of Everything. The singer mentioned that they had a strange audition as she had to get into her costume as Éponine, who had dark circles and brown teeth. Swift revealed that once Redmayne entered the office she had to awkwardly talk to him with her mouth closed as the team had painted her teeth brown.
