Taylor Swift has got a ton of musical mileage out of the romantic relationships that have come and gone in her life, but those guys haven’t been the truly essential players in her journey to the top of the pop star pyramid.

It’s Scott and Andrea Swift, Taylor’s parents, who have championed their daughter since day one, believing in her so much that they left their palatial house in Reading, Penn., for Nashville, where a determined 14-year-old Taylor felt she had to be to make her dream a reality.

Talking to CMT, she said her parents weren’t just indulging her for the sake of being supportive. “My parents actually believed it,” she said.

Before her Reputation Tour touched down in Philadelphia, she took a few friends to visit her childhood home, a Christmas tree farm in Wyomissing, where the new owners were apparently happy to let the famous former resident in to take a look at her old room.

Taylor Swift’s boyfriend Travis Kelce is catching a bit of heat after old offensive tweets from his Twitter account resurfaced.

The NFL player, 34, has been thrust into the spotlight since his romance with pop superstar Taylor, 33, was confirmed in September after weeks of rumours.

However, the newfound attention on Travis, who was previously mostly known to sports fans only, has meant that Swifties have busied themselves with trawling through his old tweets, some of which have offended.

In one tweet dated May 2010 and still available on his account, Travis wrote: ‘Haha I just caught myself judging every person that walked past me, whether they were ugly, fat, funny looking, sexy haha I’m trippin.’

Another post mentioned parents talking to their children ‘like they were retarded since they were babies’ although it’s not clear who he was referring to.

One tweet posted in March 2010 said: ‘Haha when fat people fall, its like slow motion entertainment, cuz they never JUST fall, they always tumble n gradually hit the deck #comedy.’

A post from January 2010 also read: ‘Damn the clippers girls gotta be the s****y girls that dont make the lakers girls team, cuz they all was ugly.’

Other derogatory tweets from Travis’ account are also circulating online but appear to have been deleted.

The comments have sparked a big reaction on Reddit and X aka Twitter, where the tweets first emerged, with some accusing the Kansas City Chiefs player of misogyny and being fat-phobic, while others have drawn attention to the fact the tweets were posted more than a decade ago when Travis was around 21 years old.

Giving the sports star some grace, one supporter said: ‘Boy howdy, I am shocked that a 20-21 year-old athlete from Ohio wasn’t the most enlightened young man online in 2010.’
