Taylor Swift has broken her silence on the mass stabbing that occurred in Southport, England, on July 29, 2024, during a Swift-themed dance and yoga workshop for children, which killed three kids and left eight more injured, as reported by the BBC. Per The Guardian, five of the children, along with two adults, were in critical condition after the attack, bringing the total number of victims to 13.

On July 30, Taylor Swift, who’s currently on the European leg of her Eras tour, posted a statement on her Instagram stories about the fatal incident.

“The horror of yesterday’s attack in Southport is washing over me continuously, and I’m just completely in shock,” the singer wrote in white letters against a dark background. “The loss of life and innocence, and the horrendous trauma inflicted on everyone who was there, the families, and first responders. These were just little kids at a dance class. I am at a complete loss for how to ever convey my sympathies to these families.”
