Swift is up for Top Artist, Top Female Artist, Top Billboard 200 Artist, Top Hot 100 Artist, and many more at the data-led awards show.

Swift already has 29 Billboard Music Award wins under her belt, making her the most victorious female winner in the show’s history.

The artist, 33, also has a chance to make Billboard Music Awards history once again should she break Drake’s record for the most trophies earned at the show in a single night. The rapper won 13 gongs in 2017.

Taylor Swift has scored an impressive 20 nominations at this year's Billboard Music Awards, making her the most-nominated artist at the upcoming ceremony

SZA and Morgan Wallen follow Swift close behind for the second-most nominated artists at the show; they both have earned 17 nominations.

The Weeknd comes in third with 16 nominations, while Drake and Zach Bryan follow with 14 nods. Luke Combs has earned 10 nominations, while 21 Savage, Metro Boomin and Miley Cyrus trail with nine nods.

Beyonce and Rema have both scored seven nods, while Bad Bunny and Peso Pluma have the opportunity to win six awards.

The stars who earned five nominations are Ariana Grande, David Guetta, Eslabon Armado, KAROL G, NewJeans and Selena Gomez.

Unlike many other awards shows, it is an artist’s performance on the charts that determine whether or not they win a Billboard Music Award. According to Billboard.com, ‘winners are determined by performance metrics on the year-end Billboard charts’.

As far as eligibility, Billboard states: ‘The eligibility dates for this year’s awards are aligned with Billboard’s year-end charts tracking period, which measures music consumption from the charts dated Nov. 19, 2022, through Oct. 21, 2023.’

Viewers can tune into this year’s show via the BBMA and Billboard social media platforms, in addition to the website, BBMAs.watch. It’s a departure from how fans were able to watch the show in previous years, on television.

The show, set to take place on November 19, will feature musical performances, and performers will be revealed beginning November 6.

Going for the gold! Beyonce has scored seven nominations

Music sensation: Bad Bunny is up for six awards at the Billboard Music Awards

Sing it! Luke Combs has earned 10 nominations

This year also marks the introduction of nine new awards, including top global K-pop artist, top K-pop tour, top K-pop album, top global K-pop song, top Afrobeats artist, top Afrobeats song, and top rock duo/group.

Categories for top Hot 100 songwriter and top Hot 100 producer have also been added to the show.

The late Whitney Houston is among the big names being recognized – she is been nominated for top gospel album for I Go to the Rock: The Gospel Music of Whitney Houston.

It all comes amid an epic year for Swift, who has been making headlines on a regular basis.

Shake it! Professionally, she is at the top of her game with her Eras tour and subsequent concert film

What a catch! The nominations are just the latest cherry on top of Swift's banner year, which has seen her strike up a new romance with football icon Travis Kelce

What a catch! The nominations are just the latest cherry on top of Swift’s banner year, which has seen her strike up a new romance with football icon Travis Kelce

Not only is she dating Kansas City tight end Travis Kelce in what has become a sensational romance, but her appearances at his football games have become must-watch television for Swifties.

Professionally, she is at the top of her game with her Eras tour and subsequent concert film.

She embarked on her Eras tour earlier this year, and will continue traveling across the U.S. before kicking off the international leg of her tour next month.

A film about the tour was also released earlier this month, The Eras Tour movie. In it’s opening weekend, the documentary-style film earned $95-$97 million at the domestic box office.
