Taylor Swift is currently finishing the European leg of her record-breaking Era’s World Tour.

And as the excitement mounted on Friday night for the 90,000 strong crowd at Wembley to catch a glimpse of their favourite star, it seemed the pop princess made sure she did everything in her power to up the anticipation – including her arrival.

As the Swifties waited patiently for the songstress to start the show, one eagle eyed fan posted a video of a giant box – big enough for a human to fit inside – being wheeled along backstage by two men.

Once it stopped, a very grainy shot of Taylor could be seen crawling out of the left hand side of the box.

Holding onto a handrail either side, she then climbed up some stairs in a backless sparkly dress – presumably to get herself in place – before opening up the second night of her August shows.

Taylor made a triumphant return to the stage in London on Thursday night for the final five shows of the European leg of her Eras tour, which has been running since last year.

Last night, cheers exploded from the stadium as the star performed her three-hour show and brought on Ed Sheeran as her surprise guest.

Taylor’s Thursday night performance was said to be ‘the hardest concert of her career’, being her first in the UK since the Southport stabbings – where three little girls were killed whilst at a Taylor-themed dance class.

While she did not mention the tragedy explicitly, in an emotional speech after Cruel Summer, the star said: ‘The way that you have chosen to welcome us.

‘There are 92,000 of you, out here, with your hands in the air – screaming the words.

‘Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts. We love you so much London,’ she added.

‘I know how much planning and energy and effort it took to come to these shows I really appreciate that.’

Later on in the show, Taylor came out dressed for her Red Era wearing a t-shirt that said ‘a lot going on at the moment’. Her t-shirt references are often picked up by fans.

The two embraced for a few seconds before Taylor gave her the hat – a tradition she has done across all her shows.

Taylor is set to perform again tonight (16 August) and on the 17 and 19 August, before her final night on 20 August.

Amongst the sea of Swifties were a number of famous faces, including Idris Elba and Amelia Dimoldenberg.

When asked if he was excited to be there Idris said ‘Oh my god, yeah, can’t you tell?’ adding his favourite song was London Boy.
