The 28-year-old led his team to five consecutive AFC Championship games since he became its starter.

Such excellent output from the signal caller was recognized by the franchise, and they made sure he would not go anywhere by signing him to a 10-year, $450 million contract extension in 2020.

This deal was the biggest-ever in the history of the NFL, and the third largest in the world of sports. Mahomes only trailed behind top earner Lionel Messi, whom soccer club F.C. Barcelona once signed to a 4-year, $674 million agreement, and Cristian Ronaldo, whom the Al-Nassr soccer team locked in for 2.5 years for $536 million. However, all the aforementioned names were blown out of the water when Shohei Ohtani signed a $700,000,000 deal with MLB side Los Angeles Dodgers.

Anyway, back to Mahomes. The QB rakes in some $45 million per year as Chiefs quarterback. However, this is not his only source of income as he has also landed substantial endorsement deals, including those he inked with Subway and State Farm.
