The Internet Can’t Seem to Decide Whether or Not Taylor Swift Got Her First Tattoo

If her album Reputation wasn’t enough to convince you that the old Taylor Swift is really “ᴅᴇᴀᴅ,” then the star’s rumored new ink surely will.

Celebrity tattoo artist JonBoy had Swifties buzzing early this morning when he posted a picture on Instagram of a rose tattoo presumed to be on the back of the “End Game” singer’s neck.

JonBoy, who’s worked with the likes of Hailey Baldwin and Justin Bieber, as well as notable face tattoo-wearer Post Malone, hinted that the 29-year-old may have gotten her first tattoo when he tagged her in the post and referenced her single “Welcome to New York” in the geotag — a tagging style he’s been known to use when announcing his other famous clients’ new tattoos.

Despite what these signs seem to confirm, many fans still question whether the ink really belongs to Swift. Many commenters were quick to point out that the blonde woman in the pH๏τo, with clearly dyed hair (evidenced by visible dark roots) and a gold rose pendant necklace, hardly bears any resemblance to the pop singer. (Rather than a rose pendant, Swift has recently been rocking a “J” pendant, which is presumed to be a nod to boyfriend Joe Alwyn.)

“Tay’s hairs are better than that …” one person commented. Another wrote, “lol not even taylor, she only wears 1 specific necklace and that’s not it.”

It remains to be seen whether or not Swift is the woman in the pH๏τo, but we’d be shocked if it was given her past comments about getting inked.

Did Taylor Swift Just Get Her First Tattoo?

In an interview with Taste of Country in 2012, she said, “I don’t think I could ever commit to something so permanent.” She added that if she were to get some ink, “it would be a ’13,’’ before admitting again, “I don’t want to get a tattoo.”

It’s entirely possible that the “Reputation” singer may have reconsidered her stance on tattoos considering how much time has pᴀssed. Or perhaps the tattoo artist tagged Swift merely because she inspired his latest work?

Only time will tell before TSwift, her fans, or JonBoy finally reveal the truth.
