While his film career has undoubtedly been the main source of his astronomical earnings, Johnson’s TV work has also been lucrative, with reports of hefty paychecks in starring roles. While The Rock may be one of the biggest names in the entertainment industry, he isn’t always the one making the top dollar.

Dwayne Johnson’s Ballers Salary Wasn’t Enough

As one of the biggest names in Hollywood, Dwayne Johnson has consistently ranked among the highest-paid actors in the world. After topping the list in 2016 and coming in second in 2017 and 2018, he regained the top spot in 2019 with an estimated $89.4 million in earnings.

When HBO’s hit series Ballers ended with the fifth and final season in 2019, Dwayne Johnson’s paycheck reflected his status as one of the highest-paid actors on TV. The actor reportedly earned a staggering $700,000 per episode for his role, putting him in rarefied air alongside a small group of actors who made even more.

Additionally, Norman Reedus of The Walking Dead, Nicole Kidman of Big Little Lies, and Elisabeth Moss of The Handmaind’s Tale reportedly earned a handsome $1 million per episode for their roles.

Dwayne Johnson’s Growing Paychecks Over The Years

When Johnson landed a role in the 2002 film The Scorpion King, he made history by becoming the first actor to earn $5.5 million for his debut starring role. Soon after, he played the lead role in Walking Tall, receiving a handsome $15 million for his role. In his portrayal of a bounty hunter in the 2003 film The Rundown, the actor reportedly made $12.5 million.

With the hit 2017 film Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, the actor reportedly earned a cool $19 million.
