Tom Cruise vs Brad Pitt Staggering Net Worth Difference – Pitt Charges Only $20M Per Movie While Old Rival Cruise is Already Richest Actor in 2023

Tom Cruise or Brad Pitt? This was the ‘Team Edward or Team Jacob’ debate that gripper viewers who watched Interview with the Vampire. While the two stars have never had any public fallout, there has always been an understated sense of rivalry between the two. In an interview with Premiere magazine, Brad Pitt even addressed it.

He said, “I always thought there was this underlying competition that got in the way of any real conversation. It wasn’t nasty by any means, not at all. But it was just there and it bugged me a bit.” Now, a few decades later, both of them are Hollywood’s megastars but one is clearly more wealthy than the other.

Did Tom Cruise Outearn Brad Pitt In Hollywood?

As per Edudwar, Tom Cruise is already the richest actor in Hollywood in 2023 after taking home $100 million. As for Brad Pitt, he has taken home $30 million till now. As per the site, he comes in at the 4th place. Rounding out the 2nd and 3rd spot is Will Smith with $35 million and
Leonardo DiCaprio with $30 million respectively.

As such, it looks like Cruise is in a league of his own. It’s understandable why as well. After all, he has a long-running and successful franchise to his name- Mission Impossible. In fact, Mission Impossible 7 is releasing in 2023, so he may earn even more.

As per Celebrity Net Worth, the Eyes Wide Shut star has a massive wealth of $600 million. The fact that Top Gun 2 grossed $1.4 billion globally must have added to it. However, this isn’t the only reason for Cruise’s massive wealth. The star has featured in plenty of blockbusters while Pitt’s highest-grossing film to date is World War Z which made $532 million.

So in comparison, the Bullet Train star has an estimated wealth between $400 to $420 million. Also, as per CA Knowlege, Pitt charges between $20 million to $27 million for a film, while Cruise takes home about $40 million. Even though both of them are professional, it seems like some jealousy did seep out of Pitt.

Did Brad Pitt Taunt Tom Cruise For His Valkyrie Film?

In 2009, Brad Pitt allegedly made some eyebrow-raising and weird comments about Tom Cruise’s film, Valkyrie. The 2008 film was helmed by Bryan Singer and was about a German Soldier who tries to assassinate Hitler before he brings down Germany. Interestingly, Pitt would go on to play the same kind of character in Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds.

In an interview with the German magazine Stern, Pitt allegedly said about Valkyrie:
“It was a ridiculous movie. The Second World War could still deliver more stories and films, but I believe that Quentin put a cover on that pot. With Basterds, everything that can be said about this genre has been said. The film destroys every symbol. The work is done, end of story.”
However, the Fight Club star’s representative shot down rumors of any enmity between the actor with Tom Cruise. He said that Pitt hadn’t even seen Valkyrie and his comments were misinterpreted. Since then, there haven’t been any reports or even speculation about any rivalry between the two megastars.
