Happy one-year anniversary of Travis Kelce publicly announcing he was shooting his shot at Taylor Swift to all who celebrate!

It’s hard to believe it’s already been that long since the legendary tight end was suddenly thrust in front of a brand-new audience when he went viral for revealing his failed attempt at slipping the “Karma” songstress a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it when he attended the Eras Tour in Kansas City — “very adorably put[ting] [the performer] on blast,” as she herself once described it.

Now, fans of the beloved couple are looking back on the “iconic moment” and celebrating “what a difference a year makes”—and, truth be told, the chatter may just be outshining the start of the Olympic games, which also happens to fall today.

As a video clip of Kelce recounting his story on his podcast, New Heights, began recirculating, where he explained that, despite his best efforts, Swift wasn’t able to meet him before or after the show, fans gushed over their love story, with one replying, “now she meets him before and after games.”

Swift, of course, ultimately made it to 13 Chiefs games last season, including the Super Bowl, while Kelce has made it to 14 of her concerts thus far—and even ended up on stage with her once—leading another fan to comment, “If only he knew he’d be going to 13 more after this.”

“the bracelet was delivered,” another joked of his ultimate success with a clip of the two embracing on the field after the Kansas City team won the Super Bowl. While we can’t verify that the NFL star did ultimately give her the bracelet that started it all, we do know he gifted her another friendship-style bracelet with their initials on it.

“ONE YEAR AGO!” another Swiftie celebrated on X, going on to quote Swift’s “So High School,” which is widely presumed to be about him. “Well Travis, You knew what you wanted and boy, you got her.”

And the rest, as they say, is history.
