According to an insider, Kelce, 34, is in discussions to host a relaunch of Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader? on Prime Video. Variety was the first to report the story. According to Variety, insiders close to the project indicate that the revived version of the game show would include celebrities instead of children competitors, like the original series did.

Originally presented by Jeff Foxworthy on Fox, Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader? debuted on February 27, 2007, and aired until 2011, when the network terminated the show. Foxworthy returned in 2015 to host one more season. Nickelodeon reintroduced the concept in 2019, with John Cena hosting for one season.

Travis Kelce in Talks to Host one of the Biggest Game Shows

The NFL great has already acted as a television host, so the relaunched game show would not be his first. In March 2023, he landed the coveted Saturday Night Live seat. Kelce was also the topic of a reality dating program called Catching Kelce, which aired on E! in 2016. Kelce’s possible hosting role would add to his already impressive list of entertainment efforts, which includes producing two films.

His first film, My Dead Friend Zoe, aired at SXSW earlier this month, and King Pleasure, a planned documentary on Jean-Michel Basquiat, will begin production this summer. Last year, the NFL star expressed interest in pursuing a career in Hollywood after retiring from the NFL. Speaking about his stint hosting Saturday Night Live in March 2023, the tight end stated, “It was an experience unlike any other that I’ve ever had.”

Kelce continued, “I just can’t thank them enough for giving me that opportunity, because I didn’t know I was going to enjoy scripted comedy, or that entire entertainment world as much as I did, until I was on a set and going through the week of preparation and stuff like that.” Kelce said he’s “definitely interested [in pursuing more acting projects],” adding, “but that’s a whole new craft that I feel like I really got to lock in and focus on [before I do].”

Kelce mentioned in his opening speech that he was anxious about giving his introduction for the late-night comedy sketch series. “But then I remembered: I’m quite excellent with words. “During games, I do these super eloquent pump-up speeches for my teammates,” he said, as a video of him constantly yelling “More! More! More!” appeared.

“And sometimes I even do it in my Pat Mahomes voice,” Kelce added before mimicking his Chiefs teammate. “Love you, Pat.”

In October, Kelce returned to Saturday Night Live for a surprise cameo with his girlfriend, Taylor Swift. The Chiefs star made an appearance in a skit parodying the NFL frenzy surrounding his then-rumored romance with the Grammy winner. Swift, 34, introduced her friend Ice Spice’s performance on the episode.
