A video of Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce is going viral online following an announcement about his new gig.
The Chiefs kicked off their preseason football with a game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Saturday and lost 26-13 at EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida.
“There were some good things and there were some things we need to work on in this game…” Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said in a press conference after the opener. “I thought the offense did some nice things. I mean, normally, we’ll catch that ball that was a little bit low there and complete that and keep the drive going. So, things to work on, but there were also some positive things throughout.”
In February, the Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers to win the Super Bowl—becoming the seventh team in the NFL’s history to earn four of the titles.
“LET’S DO THIS THING!!!” the Chiefs captioned the clip shared to X, formerly Twitter. At the time of publication, the video had been viewed more than 112,000 times.
Chiefs blog @BBQChiefs also posted the video, which racked up an additional 41,000 views.
In the comments, fans shared their excitement for the 2024 season.
“It’s the most wonderful time of the year!!! We back!!! #ChiefsKingdom #KCvsJAX,” one person wrote.
“Let’s go, Trav!!!” a second commented, while a third added, “HERE WE GOOOO.”
“Duggie P,” a fourth posted, referring to Pederson.
The clip comes just days after Kelce revealed new details about his hosting gig.
On Thursday, the tight end—as well as Amazon Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios—took to Instagram to share that Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity? has a premiere date.
“Sharpen your pencils. Are You Smarter Than A Celebrity?, hosted by Travis Kelce, arrives October 16,” the caption read, alongside a photo of Kelce.
The New Heights podcast co-host previously spoke out about his TV hosting debut.
“I grew up loving game shows, and I’m excited to be following in the footsteps of so many TV icons by hosting my very first one with Are you Smarter Than a Celebrity?,” Kelce said in April of the Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? spinoff, per Amazon.
He added that the series “will definitely be entertaining,” adding, “I’m just happy to be on the hosting side of the equation here and excited to see how these famous faces keep up.”
Last week, Kelce’s girlfriend Taylor Swift had to cancel her sold-out shows in Vienna, Austria, after two people were arrested for allegedly plotting a terrorist attack in the area. On Friday, it was announced that a third suspect had been arrested.
Swift’s Eras Tour is set to resume in London this week, as police in the English capital say the five upcoming shows will not be impacted by the events in Vienna.
Kelce and Swift have not yet spoken out about the situation.
