A video of Travis Kelce is going viral online amid Taylor Swift’s appearance at the 2024 Golden Globes.

The NFL star played a game against the Los Angeles Chargers at SoFi stadium on Sunday, the same day his superstar girlfriend attended the Golden Globes at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.

In the clip—which was posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, by @VIsOnCorneliaSt—the Kansas City Chiefs tight end could be seen walking with his hood up and head lowered from what appears to be his team bus. The 34-year-old was dressed in a black sweatshirt, black pants and white socks and sneakers as he carried a black bag.

“When you know you’ll be sitting on bench the whole game and your girlfriend will be at golden globes alone,” the caption read.

On Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs wrote via X that Kelce “has been ruled OUT for today’s game against the Chargers,” calling it a “coaching decision.” It’s not unusual for NFL teams to sit key players in the final week of the regular season to prevent injury before the playoffs.

In the comments, fans joked he should try to make it to the event. According to Google, the Beverly Hilton Hotel is a 31-minute drive from SoFi Stadium.

“And being so close yet so far to each other today,” one person said.

“So he’s literally there for ZERO point? (TRAVIS ESCAPE THERES STILL TIME YOU CAN MAKE IT TO THE GOLDEN GLOBES),” another wrote in a comment, which racked up nearly 40,000 views at the time of publication.

A third, meanwhile, added, “Someone smuggle him out (maybe in a cleaner cart) and get him into a suit!”

Prior to the Golden Globes, the video had over 300,000 views, but within a few hours, that number increased to nearly 550,000.

Swift walked the Golden Globes red carpet alone ahead of the awards show. She wore a sequin green dress and Christian Louboutin heels.

The pop star was nominated for the fifth time at the ceremony, this year for her Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour concert film in the cinematic and box office achievement category.

Golden Globes host Jo Koy cracked a joke about the couple during the show.

“As you know, we came on after a football doubleheader,” the comedian told the audience. “The big difference between the Golden Globes and the NFL? On the Golden Globes, we have fewer camera shots of Taylor Swift. I swear, there’s just more to go to,” he said, as the camera cut to Swift taking a sip of her drink. “Sorry about that.”

The “Cruel Summer” singer and tight end first sparked dating rumors in September after she attended several of Kelce’s games.
