The Kansas City Chiefs and quarterback Patrick Mahomes will look to win a third-straight Super Bowl this season, an accomplishment that has never been done before in the NFL. Before their season-opener against the Baltimore Ravens next month, the Chiefs will take the field for the first time since February this Saturday.

The Chiefs will face the Jacksonville Jaguars this Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. ET in their first of three pre-season games. Head coach Andy Reid confirmed on Wednesday that Mahomes and the starters will be active and will play in Saturday’s contest against the Jaguars.

“As far as the play time for this game, we’ll go the ones for a quarter, twos for the second quarter, threes the third quarter and fours for the fourth quarter, and we’ll just keep it at that,” Reid said.

While teams handle their starters differently with some teams sitting their starters out in their first pre-season game, that won’t be the case with Mahomes and the Chiefs.

Reid said that he’s going to play everyone on the team and he’s excited to see how his players play. He was asked if players who appeared on Wednesday’s injury report will be inactive for the game to which he said that will likely be the case.

Patrick Mahomes showed off his talent in today’s practice with a unique touchdown pass

Patrick Mahomes is one of the best quarterbacks and players in the NFL. He was recently ranked as the number four best player heading into the 2024 season by his peers in the NFL Top 100 list.

Today at practice, Mahomes wowed fans with an unorthodox kind of throw. In a goal-line situation, Mahomes threw a nice behind-the-back pass to running back Isiah Pacheco, who caught the ball a few yards in front of him while running it in for an easy score.

Patrick Mahomes has been shown over time to attempt and succeed at crazy plays like the one day during Chiefs’ practices. He still makes a lot of creative plays in the NFL, that don’t make sense sometimes.

While the flashy stuff is cool, we most likely won’t see Mahomes attempt a risky play like the one he did today in practice. Or will we?
