Much has been made of Brittany Mahomes‘ vocal support for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, and the reactions have proven divisive — with many fans expressing disappointment in Brittany for her political stance, and others supporting her for her “bold” choice of candidate.

That controversy has extended into the nascent NFL season, as Brittany and Taylor Swift — the romantic partner of Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce — were spotted sitting in separate suites at Arrowhead Stadium on Thursday, when Brittany’s husband Patrick Mahomes sparked the Chiefs to a season-opening victory over the Baltimore Ravens. Sunday offered fans another chance to see if a reconciliation was on the horizon for Brittany and Taylor.

Is the US open “ignoring” Brittany?

Kelce, Swift, and the Mahomeses were all in New York City on Sunday to take in the men’s final at the US Open, pitting world #1 Jannik Sinner against American Taylor Fritz. Initially, video taken from Arthur Ashe Stadium appeared to show Swift and Kelce ignoring Brittany Mahomes, who was not seen in the frame.

But continued photo and video uploads to social media proved that Brittany was not being ostracized; far from it, in fact. Brittany and Taylor were seen in a joyous embrace — indicating that their political differences are not going to end their friendship, as had been speculated.

It remains to be seen whether Brittany and Taylor will reunite in Kelce’s suite when the Chiefs host the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 2 action on Sept. 15. But the indications from Sunday seem to indicate that there is no “cold war” between the two, and it’s business as usual as the November general election looms.
