A FEMALE driver has revealed the one question men shout at her every time she visits the gas pump – and the snarky reply that quickly shuts them up.
Cate turns heads each time she drives to the gas station to fill up her Volkswagen Jetta.

In a video, the TikToker (@craftykitchenknife) explained that when she reaches for a diesel pump, exasperating men always question her decision.
Her ride has a TDI (turbocharged direct injection) engine, which is powered by diesel fuel.
Cate, a recent college graduate, knows exactly what she’s doing at the pump, but nearby know-it-alls think she’ll ruin her ride.
“I’m a dumb blonde, and they think I’m just using the pretty green pump,” she joked in the now-viral video.
One time, an older man ran right out of the gas station to try and stop her when she started filling up.
He asked if she knew whether she was putting diesel in her car, but this time, the outraged driver was done explaining herself.
Instead of answering his question, she said, “Oh no,” then got right back in the car and speeded away.
“And he was like, ‘Wait, how’d her car not break down?'” she said.
Cate amassed over 85,000 likes as hundreds of annoyed drivers shared similar experiences at the pump.
“I also drive a manual TDI Jetta,” wrote one viewer.

“I’m a guy, but still always get reminded that I’m putting diesel in my car.”
Another person said they’ve had to suffer through the same frustrating interactions an “immeasurable” number of times.
Another commenter said one time a guy had the nerve to argue over whether her TDI actually took diesel.
“Just tell them it’s a green energy efficient car so you use the green pump,” joked a different user.
GAS VS DIESEL
Most gas stations have specific differences between the pumps to stop drivers from accidentally choosing the wrong fuel.
In an exclusive conversation with The U.S. Sun, mechanic Dwayne Saunders said that diesel fuel nozzles are usually much bigger than standard.
“It’s actually easier to accidentally put gasoline in a diesel engine,” he said.
Drivers should look for black handles for standard gasoline and green handles if they need diesel.
If a driver pumps the wrong fuel, their car will start running poorly almost immediately.
As soon as the signs start to appear, drivers should call a tow truck and be pulled to the nearest mechanic so the tank can be flushed.
