Meghan Markle rocked up at Taylor Swift’s gig in L.A last year with a big grin on her face, but the Bad Blood billionaire didn’t return the favour after declining to appear on the Duchess’ podcast

Taylor Swift reportedly ‘snubbed’ Meghan Markle after the Duchess invited the singer onto her now cancelled podcast.

The Suits star, 43, rocked up at the Bad Blood Billionaire’s gig with a pal L.A. last year, where she was seen letting her hair down, bopping along to tracks, including Shake It Off. However, when Meghan personally invited Taylor, 34, to appear on her Archetypes podcast, which was streamed by Spotify, Tay Tay declined through a representative, leaving the Duchess somewhat red-faced.

Her now-defunct podcast debuted in August 2022 and featured a number of high-profile guests such as Serena Williams, Mariah Carey, and Paris Hilton.

Over the course of 12 episodes, Meghan and her guests discussed some of the stereotypes facing women. However, Taylor did not want to be part of it, according to the Telegraph.

After its debut, Archetypes soon shot to the top of Spotify’s charts in the US, Canada, the UK, and Australia. But Spotify and Archewell, the Sussexes’ production company, later announced they’d “mutually agreed to part ways” in a joint statement. Before Taylor declined her invitation, Meghan looked like she was living her best life at the singer’s star-studded gig in California. The mum-of-two stepped out for the star’s Eras Tour concert at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on August 8 last year.

Meghan made the two-hour journey from her home in Montecito, California where she lives with Prince Harry and their kids Archie and Lilibet. The former actress attended the show with her friend Lucy Fraser while Harry was in Tokyo on a business trip, according to Page Six.

Despite the reported bad blood between Meghan and Taylor after the podcast proposal, the Americana star was all smiles when she met up with the Duchess’ brother-in-law, Prince William, at her Eras gig this summer. The future king was pictured tapping his toes at Taylor’s Eras Tour gig at Wembley Stadium in June, before being whisked away for a backstage meet-and-greet with the pop sensation. Alongside William for the exciting encounter were his two eldest children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, who joined in for a cheerful selfie with the singer, along with her boyfriend, Travis Kelce.

Meghan, meanwhile, still hasn’t given up on her podcast dream. She’s joined Lemonada Media and hopes to drop a fresh offering with them next year. Sharing her excitement about the new venture earlier this year, she wrote on Instagram: “I’m proud to now be able to share that I am joining the brilliant team at Lemonada to continue my love of podcasting.

“Being able to support a female founded company with a roster of thought provoking and highly entertaining podcasts is a fantastic way to kick off 2024. Our plan to re-release Archetypes so that more people can now have access to it, as well as launching a dynamic new podcast are well in the works. I’m so eager to be able to share it soon, and am overjoyed to be joining the Lemonada family.”
