Fever teammates turn Caitlin Clark into mummy for fun bonding activity

Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever are in the midst of a month-long hiatus because of the 2024 Paris Olympics. The Fever played their last game before the break on July 17 against the Dallas Wings and lost 101-93. The team will make its return to the court on Aug. 16.

Seeing that the WNBA mid-season break is right at its mid point, the Indiana Fever social media team decided to delight their fans on Friday with a clip of the team taking part in fun activities during a practice. The post, which was made on X, formerly known as Twitter, was captioned:

“Minute to win it. The squad split into teams and competed in four mini challenges at practice.”

The video opened with Fever coach Christie Sides announcing that they were going to play four challenges within a minute. The four challenges were: Balloon Juggle, Candy Shuffle, Tissue Pull and Ping Pong Lift.

After the four challenges were complete, there was a bonus round called the “Tissue Wrap.” This is where things got interesting for Caitlin Clark fans as she was wrapped with tissues to create a comical version of a mummy.

The camp games were certainly successful as evidenced by the team’s enthusiasm and how all the players seemed to enjoy each challenge. While the Fever might have aced the fun games, the real challenge lies ahead when the second half of the season starts.

Indiana is currently placed third in the East and seventh overall with a 11-15 record. It is well poised to make the playoffs after finishing the previous season with just a 13-27 record for the worst record in the conference and 10th overall.

Drafting Caitlin Clark out of Iowa State has surely done wonders as she averages 17.1, 5.8 rebounds, 8.2 assists and 1.5 steals in 26 games. Her 8.2 assists per game leads the WNBA as well.

USWNT selection committee member implies regret over not selecting Caitlin Clark for Paris Olympics

Caitlin Clark has become one of the faces of the WNBA in a span of months. Despite her popularity and greatness on the court, she wasn’t selected to be a part of Team USA for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

South Carolina women’s basketball coach, Dawn Staley, who also happens to be a member of the USWNT selection committee, said that Clark would have likely made the team if the selection was made just before the Olympics started She said during an appearance on NBC’s coverage of the 2024 Paris Olympics coverage, via Scott Agness:

“Caitlin is just a rookie in the WNBA, wasn’t playing bad, but wasn’t playing like she’s playing now. If we had to do it all over again, the way that she’s playing, she would be in really high consideration of making the team because she is playing head and shoulders above a lot of people.”

Caitlin Clark already has several WNBA records to her name. She has the most assists in a game (19), is the only rookie to have a triple-double and has the most assists in an All-Star game (10). If she can keep up her record-shattering form, there’s no doubt that the Fever guard will be a key member for Team USA in the Olympics to come.
