KATY Perry alongside other artists has been blasted over song lyrics referencing US serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer.

The singer’s 2013 hit Dark Horse has been slammed following the release of the Netflix show Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.

What are the lyrics about Jeffrey Dahmer in Katy Perry’s song Darkhorse?

The name of the notorious cannibal, who killed and dismembered at least 17 men and boys, comes up in Katy’s 2013 hit, Dark Horse.

The song features a rap verse by Juicy J, during which he sings: “Uh, she’s a beast. I call her Karma.

“She eats your heart out like Jeffrey Dahmer.”

The song’s lyric has sparked outrage on Twitter with one user saying: “Why isn’t anyone calling out Katy Perry for allowing such a vile and terrible lyric to be included in one of her hit songs?”.

Dahmer confessed to eating some of his victims, earning the nickname “The Milwaukee Cannibal”.

It is believed, the serial killer would lure his victims to his apartment before drugging them, chopping them up and eating them.

Police officers who searched his Milwaukee apartment in 1991, discovered partly cooked human flesh, as well as a human head stored in the fridge.

What other artists had song lyrics about Jeffrey Dahmer?

Apart from the American Idol judge, other artists have faced backlash for referencing Dahmer in their songs.

Kesha’s 2010 song Cannibal has also received criticism following the release of the crime series.

The TikTok singer’s lyrics include: “Your little heart goes pitter-patter, I want your liver on a platter.

“Be too sweet and you’ll be a goner, yeah, I’ll pull a Jeffrey Dahmer.

“I eat boys up, breakfast and lunch, then when I’m thirsty, I drink their blood.

“Carnivore, animal, I am a cannibal. I eat boys up, you better run.”

Eminem has also referenced Dahmer in three of his songs.

In the 2009 Bagpipes From Baghdad, the rapper sings: “I’ll cut ya like Dahmer, pull a butcher knife on ya” while on Must Be The Ganja, he sings “And be calm or bring drama, a step beyond of Jeffrey Dahmer”

The serial killer comes up again in the 2013 track Brainless.

The lyrics say: “Something’s wrong with my head. Just think if I had a brain in it, thank God that I don’t, ’cause I’d probably be Dahmer.”

Who is Jeffrey Dahmer?

Dahmer was a serial killer who drugged, raped, murdered, dismembered and ate 17 men and boys from 1978 to 1991.

He was arrested on July 22, 1991, when cops found Polaroid photographs of his victims and their dismembered bodies at his Milwaukee apartment.

He was given 16 consecutive life terms and was sent to Columbia Correctional Institution.

On November 28, 1994, he was bludgeoned to death by inmate Christopher Scarver.
