A global face, John Cena has captivated his fans all across the globe with his personality and skills. With a net worth of $80 million as of 2023, Cena owns a very glamorous car collection. However, the WWE star got himself in trouble after owning a GT in 2017.

Ford eyed limited car enthusiasts across the globe who could offer $478,750 on a brand new GT. The Peacemaker star John Cena, too, made it to the list and by September 2017, he had become the proud owner of the supercar. His pictures and videos with the car soon filled the internet. However, within two months, in November, Cena sold his GT.

With much controversy following the sale, it is indeed a mystery as to why John Cena sold his GT. The most probable reason for selling the car was John Cena’s physique. With a height of over 6 feet and a huge build, it would clearly tough for the WWE star to sit comfortably in the supercar.

Soon after, he sold the car, making a massive profit. Many fans believe that Cena sold his GT in order to make huge profit from it. However, with a huge income already in hand, the rumor fails in satisfying the fans. On the other hand, John Cena never revealed the reason for selling the car, leaving the fans speculating on the same.

Ford sued John Cena for selling his GT

As soon as John Cena sold his GT, Ford sued the WWE star. New Autos Inc. became the new possessors of the car for an undisclosed amount. Following this, many reports claimed that Cena earned a huge profit from the deal.

When Ford handed over the supercar to the 16-time world champion, he was compelled to sign a contract that forbade him from selling the supercar for at least 2 years after its purchase. The glistening blue GT was in high demand for its limited edition and also for having belonged to the WWE superstar.

However, in the two years that followed, the car changed hands a total of five times. Many owners drove the car less than 10 miles before selling it. The auction amount even crossed the $1,000,000 mark for purchasing the iconic GT. All this clearly proves that the supercar failed to impress the audience.
