Jonathan Owens Celebrates Simone Biles’ Gold-Medal Win With Touching Gesture
Chicago Bears safety Jonathan Owens is his wife Simone Biles’ biggest fan, and he’s not afraid to show it.
After getting permission to leave training camp and fly to Paris to support his wife, Owens has spent the last few days gushing about Biles’ performance at the 2024 Olympics on social media.
And following her gold-medal win in the women’s all-around gymnastics final on Thursday, in which she became the third woman to win the event multiple times, the first American to win multiple times and the first to do it in nonconsecutive years, Owens and his wife shared another viral celebratory moment.
Biles now has nine Olympic medals, including six gold, making her the first female gymnast to win nine or more medals since Nadia Comaneci did so back in 1980.
“I’m super proud of my performance tonight and the fight that I’ve had for the last three years mentally and physically,” Biles said, via ESPN. “Just to get back competing on [the] world stage [at the] Olympic Games is an amazing experience. I couldn’t be prouder.”
