Caitlin Clark’s boyfriend Connor McCaffery is often assumed as the brother of NFL superstar Christian McCaffrey. The almost undetectable difference in spelling usually causes sports fans to conclude that the two are siblings. While many often make an honest mistake, some use the slight difference in family names to troll sports fans on social media.

An X, formerly Twitter, user went on the social media platform to make a collage of the McCaffery brothers. The account holder had Connor, Patrick and Jonathan, also known as Jack, in a collection. McCaffrey, the San Francisco 49ers running back, was added to the equation.

@WSGADLIBS captioned his post with:

“Meet The McCaffreys.”

Sports fans reacted to the creative but incorrect collage:

“Leave my RB out of this”

One fan didn’t hide his disgust:

“literally just threw up in my mouth”

Another fan pointed out what’s factual:

“That’s not the same family”

“and why is Christian in here”

Calling all four “The McCaffreys” is clearly a troll job that some fans didn’t like or couldn’t understand. It could also be a dig at the uber-popular Caitlin Clark who has a relationship with Connor McCaffery, an assistant coach with the Indiana Pacers. Perhaps the trolling will stop if Jonathan “Jack” McCaffery becomes a much better basketball player than his older brothers.

Some fans will relentlessly continue to take a dig or throw shots at Caitlin Clark. A few will even go to such lengths as questioning the compatibility of a superstar WNBA player with an assistant coach of an NBA team. The noise hasn’t bothered the Indiana Fever star as she remains loyal and supportive of her boyfriend.

Recently, Connor McCaffery shared his latest accomplishment with the Pacers on Instagram. He was part of the coaching staff that guided the team in the NBA’s annual Summer League competition.

McCaffery captioned his IG post with:

“Year 1 in the books”

Caitlin Clark promptly responded:

“Proud of u [black heart emoji]

In big or special moments, Clark is never too far away to show her support whenever McCaffery shares something on social media. He isn’t a big name in pro basketball the way Christian McCaffrey is in the NFL but the Indiana Fever rookie can’t care less. People can troll her and her boyfriend’s family all they want but that will not affect her and the McCafferys.
