“Wow, any of us can go at any minute”: Chris Hemsworth Got Worried For His Life After Jeremy Renner Nearly Died in Scary Snowplow Accident

In a recent interview with British GQ, popular actor Chris Hemsworth shared his profound thoughts on the nature of mortality, which he expressed as finally “sinking in.” Hemsworth reflected on a life-threatening incident involving his close friend and fellow Avengers co-star Jeremy Renner, who was involved in a severe snow plow accident. This incident served as a wake-up call for Hemsworth, reminding him that life is unpredictable, and any of us could face sudden challenges or even lose our lives at any given moment.

As Hemsworth approaches his 40th birthday on August 11, he admitted that he feels a certain apprehension toward this milestone. Despite his youthful spirit and the sensation of still being in his mid-twenties, he now realizes that time is passing swiftly, and he may already be well past the halfway mark of his life. The accident suffered by Renner, who portrays the skilled archer Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, deeply affected Hemsworth, further emphasizing the fragility and preciousness of life. Renner endured numerous surgeries and suffered over 30 broken bones following the unfortunate incident, which occurred on New Year’s Day.

The incident occurred when Renner towed his nephew’s truck off his driveway after it got stuck in the snow. While hospitalized, Renner told investigators on January 5 about the events that transpired. After successfully moving the truck onto the street, the snowplow started “sliding sideways” and eventually “began to roll down the hill.” Renner decided to jump out of the snowcat at that point, according to his statement.

How Did Chris Hemsworth React To Jeremy Renner’s Accident?

Hemsworth, known for his role in the Avengers franchise, reflected on the incident and shared his personal thoughts. The interview also delved into Hemsworth’s marriage to his wife Elsa Pataky and their three children—daughter India Rose, 11, and twin boys Sasha and Tristan, 9.

Recalling the moment he first learned about Renner’s condition, Hemsworth revealed,
“We were all on our Avengers text chain, we were all chatting. And it was wild. None of us really knew how serious it was. I think anything like that, it’s an immediate realization of, ‘Wow, any of us can go at any minute…”‘.
The aftermath of the accident made Hemsworth realize the fragility of life and the fact that any of them could face unexpected circumstances at any moment.
