Chicago Sky’s Angel Reese extended an invite to American singer and songwriter SZA, whose real name is Solána Imani Rowe, for one of her team’s games. The creator of stellar hits such as Lana and SOS, SZA first grew to prominence via her 2012 debut, See.SZA.Run.
She has since become recognized as one of the most talented young artists in the industry, at the age of 34. Recently, the singer posted an Instagram story appreciating Reese’s impact in her rookie season in the WNBA.
Reese recently notched up 12 straight double-doubles in the league, a streak that has since been taken to 13 games.
SZA shared a post congratulating Reese for her 12 straight double-doubles, and posted the following caption along with it:
“Go crazy! I gotta see her play.”
The above statement was accompanied by an emoji as well, and Reese herself seems to have missed the story when it was initially posted.
However, she did spot it via an X repost, and ended up responding to it. The 22-year-old superstar invited the singer to a game, and also tagged her official handle:
“SZA sisterrrr come to a gameeee i love youuuuu😭🥺🩷 @sza”
Hence, fans need not be surprised if they end up spotting SZA at a Chicago Sky game in the near future. The two celebrities obviously share a deep appreciation for each other, and might as well go on to collaborate in the future, if only to get SZA some match tickets.
Angel Reese continues to make dumbfounding impact on the WNBA
Reese is part of a stellar class of rookies which features some top talents such as Kamilla Cardoso, Caitlin Clark and Cameron Brink.
However, her transition into a functional Chicago Sky team has been utterly seamless. This is especially so considering the fact that the Sky star’s influence has only increased since the start of the campaign.
Her recent outing, which came in a four-point victory over the Seattle Storm, saw Reese produce 27 points, the highest return that she has managed in her WNBA career. She also came up with 10 rebounds on the night and continued her record-breaking double-double streak to a whopping 13 games.
The player broke the record of none other than Candace Parker, and has in recent weeks graduated to become Caitlin Clark’s biggest rival for the Rookie of the Year award.
This comes despite the fact that Reese was only the 7th overall pick of the WNBA Draft. But she has enjoyed a transition which is bound to make other members of her class envious.
The player has made a consistently huge impact on both ends of the court and is now going at 13.9 points and 11.7 rebounds per game. Those numbers, undoubtedly, are stellar for even WNBA veterans.
