Post Malone has revealed he thinks it would “suck” to have Taylor Swift or Beyoncé’s level of fame.
The rapper and songwriter, who has collaborated with both Taylor Swift and Beyoncé on their 2024 album releases, now says he would not want to achieve their degree of celebrity.
“I can’t even imagine being at their level – it must suck,” Post, whose real name is Austin Richard Post, told The New York Times in an interview published this week.
He described working with Taylor, 34, on the video shoot for their song Fortnight, explaining the singer had to be fully concealed simply to travel around the set undetected by paparazzi.
“(She needed) an umbrella and drapes over the golf cart so drones and a helicopter couldn’t get footage,” Post, 29, said. “That’s so much pressure.”
The Better Now hitmaker explained his collaboration with Beyoncé, 42, on their song LEVII’S JEANS was similarly intimidating, as they never met in person. Instead, a representative from Beyoncé’s team sent the track to him at his Utah compound and the pair discussed the music via text message.
“It was terrifying,” Post said, adding he was “just honoured to be in these people’s vicinity”.
Post’s debut country album, F-1 Trillion, is set for release on 16 August.
