The one-time rap star dropped into CMA Fest on June 26, 2024, to sing a duet on “Pour Me a Drink” with Shelton. The pair both donned guitars and took turns singing about football, speeding down the highway, and cracking a cold one.
The readers surely know Post is more than a rapper at this point, but hearing him jump headfirst into such a completely different style was a real revelation. The New York star really shone vocally throughout the live performance and as always, his charisma was just off the charts. The interactions between Post and Shelton added a fun vibe to the performance, and it was abundantly clear the two were having a ball playing together.
“Pour Me a Drink” was released with Post as the main artist, and Shelton as the feature. Despite this, Shelton uploaded the CMA Fest performance on his own channel, where it has already gained 1.3 million views. Fans were loving the duet, and added comments such as “Post Malone treating music genres like infinity stones. Collecting them all” and “Post Malone’s range is just insane and I’m glad we are all alive to witness it.”
Post dropped “Pour Me a Drink” on June 21, 2024, as the second single from his sixth studio album F-1 Trillion. The album is driven by acoustic guitar and is packed full of country tunes. He had already shown how broad his range was with his synthpop album Austin in 2023, but F-1 Trillion is an even bigger stylistic departure, particularly in the vocal department.
