Reese made history against the Storm

Chennedy Carter tears down Caitlin Clark again with a message that will only please Angel Reese

The Chicago Sky secured a narrow 88-84 victory over the Seattle Storm on Friday, with rookie Angel Reese making history by tying Candace Parker’s record for the most consecutive double-doubles, achieving 12 across multiple seasons.

Post-game, Sky guard Chennedy Carter didn’t hold back on her thoughts regarding the Rookie of the Year race. Despite a strong fan base supporting Indiana Fever’s Caitlin Clark for the award, Carter confidently backed her teammate, Reese, suggesting that Reese‘s achievements outshine the competition.

“Barbie’s rookie of the year. [There’s] no other way to put it,” Carter said.

“She goes out, she does her work every single night no matter what team we’re facing. I’m telling you, Barbie‘s rookie of the year, for sure.”

Reese shone against Storm

Reese‘s performance against the Storm was exceptional, contributing 27 points, including four crucial free throws at the closing stages, and ten rebounds to tie the long-standing double-double record. She also hit her first two three-pointers in the WNBA, marking another personal milestone.

“I haven’t always been great at free throws,” Reese said after the game.

“It’s been obviously a work in progress for me and just continuing to just get better and be able to have teammates and coaches that trust in me.

“Just being able to step up there with confidence every single day in practice shoot 50 free throws at the end, so I’m always focused for that, so that moment, it was like nothing for me.”

Carter also played a pivotal role in the game, leading all scorers with 33 points on an impressive 15-of-24 shooting.
