About TIN 356
Who we are, what we publish and how this launch edition works.Last updated: Oct 1, 2026
TIN 356 is an independent digital magazine about technology, creative culture and the practical side of living with the internet. "Tin" is the Vietnamese word for news, and 356 is our brand number: a nod to the goal of showing up almost every day of the year. This is the launch edition of the site, and we want to be plain about what that means.
What we publish
Our stories sit on five desks. Tech & AI covers models, tools and hardware. Creator Life looks at ownership, studios and the business of making things. Culture follows design movements and internet subcultures. Startups explores bootstrapping, venture and early-stage thinking. Pulse is the everyday desk: media habits, remote work and the small routines that make the rest manageable.
Alongside stories, we plan a few formats: deep dives for longer analysis, an audio dispatch, a morning briefing and weekend digests. Some of these exist as pages and plans only. We say so wherever it applies.
Launch edition: what is real and what is illustrative
At launch, the editorial team writes explainers, guides, analysis and illustrative features. An illustrative feature uses fictional people, studios and places to explain a real trend, and is labelled as such at the top of the story. We do not present invented characters as real, we do not publish made-up statistics, and we do not describe events that did not happen as news. Every story carries a label, and the Editorial Code explains our rules.
Bylines on the site are launch-edition pen names, described on The Masthead. We do not claim a large newsroom, a large audience or industry awards, because we have none of those yet.
How the site is funded
For now it is not. There is no advertising, no paywall and no sponsorship. If that changes, we will say so on this page and in the media kit, and any sponsored content will be clearly labelled and kept separate from editorial work.
Language and reach
The site is in English. Vietnamese, Japanese and Spanish editions appear as options in the footer because they are ideas for later; they are not available, and the buttons say so. Audio and newsletter formats follow the same rule: planned, not live.
Get involved
Read, share and argue with us. If you spot an error, tell us through the contact page and we will correct it. If you would like to write for us, read the Submit a Story guidelines. If you want a morning briefing, join the waiting list, which records your interest only on your own device until the newsletter launches.
You can reach the desk at [email protected]. That address is a placeholder for the launch edition, and we will confirm it before the site goes fully live.
