Pitch guidelines for independent writers and tipsters.Last updated: Oct 1, 2026
We welcome pitches from builders, designers, writers and curious people with something useful to say. Before you spend time on a draft, please read this page. It explains what we look for and, importantly, what we cannot offer during the launch edition.
What we cannot offer yet
Compensation is not available during the launch edition. We will say so plainly rather than let you find out later. If that changes, we will update this page before accepting commissioned work. You will receive a byline, editorial feedback and a clear licence, and you will keep ownership of your work. If that is not enough for you, we understand and appreciate your interest.
How to pitch
Send a short email to [email protected], which is a placeholder address for the launch edition, with the following details, in about two hundred words.
- A working headline.
- A summary of the piece in around 150 words: what it says and why it matters now.
- The desk it suits: Tech & AI, Creator Life, Culture, Startups or Pulse.
- Your sources or the experience that supports it.
- A line about you and links to one or two relevant samples.
The pitch form below this text opens your email application with those headings ready to fill in. Nothing is submitted from the page.
What we like
- Clear explanations of something that is confusing or overhyped.
- Practical guides with steps readers can follow.
- Thoughtful analysis that names limits and trade-offs.
- Original reporting, where you can show how you know what you know.
What we do not accept
- Promotional pieces for your own product dressed as editorial.
- Claims without sources, invented statistics or fabricated quotes.
- Pieces generated wholesale by software without disclosure.
- Material you do not have the right to publish.
Rights, edits and timing
You keep ownership of your work. By submitting, you agree that we may edit for length, clarity and accuracy and publish with your byline. We aim to respond within a few working days, but that is a goal and not a guarantee, and we may not reply to every pitch. We never publish without telling you first.
Tips and corrections
If you have a tip or a correction rather than a pitch, use the same form and select "News tip", or email [email protected]. Please do not send personal information about other people unless it is essential and you have the right to share it.
Pitch form
This form opens your own email app with the message pre-filled, addressed to [email protected]. You press send yourself; nothing is submitted from this page.
